New workshop:  Metal Clay Brooch
with 24k gold (keum boo), 5 mm garnet, patination and fine silver wire  fibula

 

 

 

 

 

 

This seven hour workshop will focus on making a brooch:

bulletTextured on one side
bulletStone setting (simple) ( Gemstone is included in class kit)
bulletFibula pin back
bulletKeum boo application of 24 k gold ( gold foil is in class kit)
bulletLOS: Liver of Sulfur coloration  ( LOS will be provided for class use)

Students will need to bring the following to the workshop.

bullet20 grams lump clay, 10 oz  paste clay.  *
* I will have metal clay  & fine silver wire for sale during the workshop
bulletWork surface
bulletCutting tools, Exacto(tm) knife, tissue blade
bulletOlive oil
bulletFlat pastry brush (1 inch) or comparable paint brush. (for the olive oil)
bulletRoller
bulletTexture
bulletScrap polymer clay: about 3 ounces.
bulletDrawing paper
bulletScissors
bulletOne round cubic Zirconia.... Minimum of 5mm and no larger than 10mm.
bullet8 inches of 18 gauge fine silver wire* 5 inches of Sterling silver wire *
bullet1 tapered and 1 flat end paintbrush
bullet400 grit and 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper
bulletContainer for silver sanding residue.
