Brooch: Keum Boo and LOS

New workshop: Metal Clay Brooch
with 24k gold (keum boo), 5 mm garnet, patination and fine silver wire fibula

This seven hour workshop will focus on making a brooch:

	Textured on one side
	Stone setting (simple) ( Gemstone is included in class kit)
	Fibula pin back
	Keum boo application of 24 k gold ( gold foil is in class kit)
	LOS: Liver of Sulfur coloration ( LOS will be provided for class use)

Students will need to bring the following to the workshop.

	20 grams lump clay, 10 oz paste clay. * * I will have metal clay & fine silver wire for sale during the workshop
	Work surface
	Cutting tools, Exacto(tm) knife, tissue blade
	Olive oil
	Flat pastry brush (1 inch) or comparable paint brush. (for the olive oil)
	Roller
	Texture
	Scrap polymer clay: about 3 ounces.
	Drawing paper
	Scissors
	One round cubic Zirconia.... Minimum of 5mm and no larger than 10mm.
	8 inches of 18 gauge fine silver wire* 5 inches of Sterling silver wire *
	1 tapered and 1 flat end paintbrush
	400 grit and 800 grit wet/dry sandpaper
	Container for silver sanding residue.
